R.I.P Eric Carmen March 11th, 2024
Eric Carmen was an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 11th, 1949. He initially gained recognition as lead vocalist of the Raspberries, a pop group that drew influence from the British Invasion era (including bands like the Beatles, the Who, the Hollies, and Small Faces). They are best remembered for songs like “Go All the Way”, “Let’s Pretend”, “Tonight”, “Overnight Sensation”, and “I Wanna Be with You”.
As a solo artist, he had even further success with hits like “All by Myself”, “She Did It”, “Hungry Eyes”, “Make Me Lose Control”, and the song I chose as a memorial for today.
Sadly, on March 11th, 2024, his wife Amy announced that he had died in his sleep (over the weekend), giving neither a cause nor a specific date of death. He was 74. In memory of his passing, I have attached a link to a song that peaked at #11 in the U.S. (on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart). Released (as a single) in April 1976, here’s the late ERIC CARMEN with “NEVER GONNA FALL IN LOVE AGAIN”….
