R.I.P. Prince

Prince Rogers Nelson, was an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 7th, 1958. Some of his most famous songs include “Little Red Corvette”, “1999”, “When Doves Cry” “Kiss”, “Raspberry Beret”, and today’s song choice (to name just a few).

He was the recipient of 7 Grammy Awards, and in the year 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians of all-time, in 2023, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him in their Top 20 All-Time Guitarists.

On this very day, April 21st, 2016, Prince Rogers Nelson died (at 57 years of age) from an accidental overdose of fentanyl. In memory of his passing, exactly 8 years ago today, I’ve chosen an emotional ballad that many would consider his signature hit.
