“ASHES TO ASHES” by DAVID BOWIE

David Bowie, a pioneering English musician and record producer, was born on January 8th, 1947, in London, England. Known for his chameleon-like personas and artistic innovation, his career spanned over many decades.

His breakthrough came (in 1972) with the introduction of one of his many personas, “Ziggy Stardust”. Bowie’s musical style was quite diverse, and continued evolving throughout the years, right up until his untimely death. Some of his hits biggest include “Space Oddity”, “Changes”, “Heroes”, “Fame”, “China Girl”, and “Modern Love” (just to name a few). In 1996, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame”, and was eventually ranked as the greatest rock star ever by Rolling Stone magazine.

On this very day, January 10th 2016, David Bowie passed away, just days after his 69th birthday (and the release of his final album, “Blackstar”). In memory of his passing, exactly 8 years ago today, I have chosen my favorite Bowie tune that truly captures his inner genius (and that you can easily listen to by clicking on the provided YouTube link). Released on September 12th 1980, here’s the late DAVID BOWIE with “ASHES TO ASHES”….
