Christmas Countdown #9
“Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” by BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
“Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” was written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie, and was first performed on Eddie Cantor’s radio show (in 1934). Since then, it has become a holiday classic.
Bruce Springsteen’s live version was recorded at a concert in New York (on December 12th, 1975). His rendition has gained popularity (over the years) for it energetic and dynamic stage presence, along with its playful banter with the audience.
