Ray Davies is a singer and songwriter who is best known as lead vocalist for English rock band, The Kinks. Together, this group achieved success with hits like “You Really Got Me”, “All Day and All of the Night”, “Come Dancing” and today’s attached song link.

In 1990, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2017, Ray Davies was knighted for his significant contributions to the music industry.

On this very day, June 21st 1944, Raymond Douglas Davies was born in the Fortis Green area of London, England.
