R.I.P. JIMI HENDRIX

Jimi Hendrix was an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born in Seattle, Washington on November 27th, 1942. Widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in the history of rock, he’s especially remembered for his legendary performance at the Woodstock Festival (in 1969). Some of his most iconic songs include “Purple Haze”, “Hey Joe”, “The Wind Cries Mary”, and today’s song choice (that can be listened to by clicking on the provided link).

On November 14th 1991, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and in 1992, he was posthumously inducted into the prestigious, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

On this very day, September 18th 1970, James Marshall Hendrix died of asphyxia (after a drug overdose). He was only 27 at the time of his death. In memory of his passing, exactly 54 years ago today, I’ve chosen a song that was originally written (and recorded) by folk legend, Bob Dylan. From the album, “Electric Ladyland”, here’s the late, JIMI HENDRIX, with “ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER”….
