R.I.P. LYNSEY DePAUL
Lynsey de Paul was a singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born in London, England on June 11th 1948. A two-time Ivor Novello Award winner, she had several hit singles (in the U.K.), including “Won’t Somebody Dance with Me”, “No, Honestly”, and today’s song choice (that can be listened to by clicking on the provided link).
Although she was never married, her high-profile relations are well documented. Throughout her life she dated many stars, including Dudley Moore, Ringo Starr, James Coburn, Bernie Taupin, and David Frost.
On this very day, October 1st 2014, Lyndsey Monckton Rubin (known professionally as Lynsey DePaul) died from a brain haemorrhage (at 66 years of age). In memory of her passing, exactly 10 years ago today, I’ve chosen a track that topped the charts in Belgium, Spain, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
