R.I.P. PETER TOSH

Peter Tosh was a singer-musician who’s remembered as a co-founder of legendary reggae group, The Wailers (along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer). He was especially known for his advocacy of Rastafari principles, social justice, and marijuana legalization. His involvement with the Wailers helped shape the early sound of reggae music.

He was 42 years old at the time of his death. In memory of his passing, exactly 37 years ago today, I’ve chosen a song that was originally recorded by the legendary Chuck Berry. Other than lyrics, the rendition you’re about to hear sounds almost nothing like the original. Released in 1983, here’s the late, PETER TOSH, with his reggae version of “JOHNNY B GOODE”….
