“TWO OUTTA THREE AIN’T BAD” by MEAT LOAF
Marvin Lee Aday (also known by his stage name, Meat Loaf) was an American singer and songwriter who was born on September 27th, 1947, in Dallas, Texas.
He achieved international fame with the release of his album, “Bat Out of Hell”. This album, produced by Jim Steinman, went on to become a trilogy with three separate releases in 1977, 1993, and 2006. Until the present day, the original “Bat Out of Hell” project remains one of the best-selling albums of all time.
His true genius was shown on his signature hit, “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”, released as a single in 1977. His theatrical and powerful performances, coupled with the storytelling nature of his music, have made him a beloved figure in the history of rock.
On this very day, January 20th 2022, he passed away in Nashville, Tennessee. Although there was no official cause of death released, some suspect he may have died due to complications from Covid-19. In memory of his passing, exactly 2 years ago today, I have chosen a ballad that has resonated with fans throughout the years, and can be listened to by clicking on the provided YouTube link.
