R.I.P. DOUG BENNETT

Doug Bennett was a Canadian singer and songwriter who was born in Toronto, Canada on October 31st, 1951. Alongside his band, Doug and the Slugs, he achieved success in Canada with hits like “Day by Day”, “Making it Work”, “Who Knows How to Make Love Stay”, and today’s song choice (that can be listened to by clicking on the provided link).

In 1983, Doug & the Slugs were Juno-nominated for “Most Promising Group of the Year”.

On this very day, October 16th 2004, Douglas Craig Bennett died in Calgary, Alberta (one week after falling into a coma). He was 52 at the time of his death. In memory of his passing, exactly 20 years ago today, I’ve chosen a song that was Juno-nominated for “Single of the Year”.
