R.I.P. TOM FOGERTY
Tom Fogerty was an American musician who was born in Berkeley, California on November 9th, 1941. He is best remembered as the rhythm guitarist for American southern rock band, Creedence Clearwater Revival. Some of this group’s primary hits include “Bad Moon Rising”, “Fortunate Son”, “Proud Mary”, “Down on the Corner”, and today’s song choice (that can be listened to by clicking on the provided link).
In 1993, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of CCR).
On this very day, September 6th 1990, Thomas Richard Fogerty died of Aids (after receiving a blood transfusion that was not screened for HIV). He was 48 years old at the time of his death. In memory of his passing, exactly 34 years ago today, I’ve chosen a classic rock tune that recently surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. Taken from the album, “Pendulum”, here’s C.C.R., featuring the late TOM FOGERTY, with “HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN?””….
