R.I.P. to HELEN REDDY!

Helen Reddy was an American singer who was born in Melbourne, Australia on October 25th, 1941. She gained international fame (in the 1970s) with her empowering hit song, “I Am Woman”, which became a symbol of the women’s liberation movement. Her other big hits include songs like “Delta Dawn”, “You and Me Against the World”, and today’s song choice (that can be listened to by clicking on the provided link).

In 1973, she won a Grammy Award for “I Am Woman”, and in 1974 (at the inaugural AMAs), she won the award for “Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist”.

On this very day, September 29th 2020, Helen Maxine Reddy died in Los Angeles, California (at 78 years of age). In memory of her passing, I’ve chosen a contemporary track that topped Billboard’s Hot 100 chart (in the U.S.). From the album, “Free & Easy”, here’s the late, HELEN REDDY, with “ANGIE BABY”….
